This year's National Championships were held in the Virginia Blue Ridge mountains, in Roanoke, VA. R-Cubed had 4 athletes competing agains the best racers in the nation!
The course in Roanoke contained a long road start, followed by lots of narrow, rooty old-school single-track trails that were extremely slick when wet. The weather was a mix of hot days and thunderstorms in the evenings, making for constantly changing conditions.
Erin Smith competed in the Marathon National Championship race, where she was crowned the 2025 19-29 National Champion!
Riley Higgins competed in the Boys 15-16 qualifier race.
Coach Rich competed in the Men's Masters race on a super slimy course.
Coach Kim competed in the Elite women's race, placing 8th.
Overall, it was a challenging and fun week! Hopefully, we can get a bigger team down next year!
